We’re looking, we’re going to be talking about political office holders who are not going to be returning to office, who include most notably Governors who will not have a second term or who have already served out their second terms. Things like awarding late contracts, appointments which will be happening between now and inauguration day, as well as some who will be granting amnesty or pardon to some convicts.

So, on the Ideas segment today, with Ayo Obe, we are looking at the developments in Rivers State where the last of the gubernatorial elections for the 2019 election cycle is going on, and the collation of results recommenced on the 2nd of April, and INEC says this will run until the 5th, and that if there are any supplementary elections to be held, that will take place on the 13th.

On the IDEAS segment with Ayo Obe which begins straightaway, we’re looking at the integrity of the supplementary election, as well as the big story which is coming out with respect to the Osun election where Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party, according to the tribunal has been declared the winner of that poll. The court … the tribunal also declared that the certificate handed to Gboyega Isiaka be handed over to Ademola Adeleke, and saying that the supplementary election should never have happened in the first instance.

And Rotimi I am also throwing in another ‘I’, because with the number of states where their result has been declared inconclusive, and the pattern of voting in those states, there’s also a question about the Independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission as well.

A lot of people have no idea that the 29 states that we’re having elections for State Assembly and Governorship, have roles to play in their day-to-day lives.
